Lewis Milton KIDD 1835 - 1897

CIVIL WAR SOLDIER: Sargeant in 3rd TN Cavalry, Company A (Union Army)
Joined 11/10/1862, Knoxville, TN. Captured by Confederate troops at the battle of Sulphur Branch Trestle in Alabama, 9/24/1864. Sent to Cahaba Prison, a prisoner of war camp in Dallas County, Alabama. Was paroled on 4/21/1865. Lewis survived the disastrous Sultana (steamer) explosion in which his brother James William and cousin James Franklin were killed. Discharged from the Union Army on 6/10/1865, Nashville, TN.
